Elevated Psychiatry

How care works here

Elevated Psychiatry is a private-pay membership practice for adults in California and Hawaiʻi. This page explains what happens from your first booking through ongoing care, and what it costs.

Adults, 18 and older California and Hawaiʻi Virtual and in-person Appointments usually available within a week

Before you book

Three things to confirm first

We check these before care begins, so they are worth knowing now. If any of them rules you out, contact us and we can help you find an appropriate referral.

Location

You need to be physically located in California or Hawaiʻi at the time of each appointment. Licensing requires it, and we confirm your location at each visit.

Payer

We are unable to accept patients covered by Medicare, Medicaid, Medi-Cal, or a combination of Medicare and Medicaid.

Payment

We are out-of-network with all commercial insurance plans. Membership is paid directly, and we provide a superbill after each visit that you can submit for possible reimbursement.

The process

From booking to ongoing care

Six steps. The first four happen before you are charged for anything beyond your first month.

1

Choose your membership path

Three paths, depending on where you are starting. If you are not sure which one applies to you, contact us before booking and we can point you to the right one.

2

Request your appointment

Use the secure booking link for the membership you chose. Appointments are usually available within a week, depending on the schedule in your state.

3

We confirm eligibility

We check your location, your payer eligibility, and whether the plan you selected suits your situation. If a different plan fits better, we say so before anything begins.

4

You review your costs

Secure intake forms arrive along with a Good Faith Estimate of expected costs, provided before your first appointment as required by the federal No Surprises Act.

5

Meet your provider

The first appointment runs longer than a standard psychiatric intake. That time goes to understanding what is actually going on.

  • History, current symptoms, and what you want treatment to change
  • At least two treatment options, with the pros and cons of each explained
  • Contributing factors reviewed, including sleep, nutrient deficiencies, and overlapping conditions
  • An explanation of the reasoning behind the treatment, not only the prescription
6

Continue care

Membership is ongoing rather than visit-by-visit, so the follow-up is built in.

  • Typically four to six appointments in the first 90 days, while the plan is being worked out
  • Automatic check-in form every six weeks
  • HIPAA-secure texting with your provider between visits
  • Earlier follow-up appointments available as needed, usually within a week
  • Routine refill coordination, without a separate appointment

Choosing a path

Which membership fits

Discovery and ADHD Copilot are available at Standard or Concierge level. Mind & Mood has one level.

Discovery The on-ramp
For new patients who need a full ADHD-focused evaluation that considers the whole mental health picture. Includes Creyos, validated objective cognitive testing to strengthen your evaluation. After the first month, graduates roll into ADHD Copilot.

ADHD Copilot Ongoing care

Mind & Mood Non-ADHD care
For depression, anxiety, or sleep care. Standard psychiatric follow-up visits are typically $150 — on Mind & Mood, follow-ups are included in your membership. This membership does not manage stimulants or benzodiazepines, and it is built for straightforward cases; complex or high-risk presentations are referred to a higher level of care.
$100 first month · then $60/mo

Concierge, $150 per month

Available with Discovery and ADHD Copilot. Everything in Standard, plus:

  • One no-fee reschedule per month, with any amount of notice
  • Letters and paperwork with no added fees
  • Superbills handled automatically
  • Personalized supplement plan
  • Ongoing Creyos tracking

As a Concierge member, we order and interpret your GeneSight pharmacogenomic testing as part of your care. This test is billed through your own insurance, not by us — most patients pay little to nothing, though you may owe a portion if your plan doesn't fully cover it (GeneSight caps patient out-of-pocket at $330).

Medication

Refills, shortages, and monitoring

How refills work

  • Routine refill coordination is included when medication is clinically appropriate
  • Requests go through the patient portal or secure texting, not a separate billable visit
  • Refills are handled so treatment does not lapse between scheduled follow-ups

If your medication is unavailable

  • We partner with a specialty pharmacy, optional for patients, to stay informed about what is in stock
  • Availability is considered when choosing between treatment options
  • The national shortage is outside our control, but we account for it in the plan
Monitoring requirement

Patients prescribed both a stimulant and a benzodiazepine require the Concierge tier. Combination controlled-substance prescribing carries extra monitoring requirements under DEA guidelines. Mind & Mood does not manage controlled substances of any kind.

Cost

Payment, reimbursement, and cancellations

Getting reimbursed

After each visit we provide a superbill you can submit to your insurer. We work with Reimbursify to keep the submission simple. Many plans with out-of-network mental health benefits reimburse a portion of the visit fee.

Reimbursement is determined solely by your plan and is not guaranteed by Elevated Psychiatry.

Cancellations and no-shows

Please provide at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Missed appointments and late cancellations may be subject to a fee under the appointment policy provided during intake.

Concierge members receive one no-fee reschedule each month, with any amount of notice.

Existing patients

Current patients keep their existing price and service level unless they choose to move to a new membership.
